• Blackboard Inc. on Wednesday released Bb Grader, a new iOS app for iPad and iPad Mini that allows educators to track and grade student assignments, and provide text, audio, or video feedback.
• The app is also designed to alert instructors to potential performance risks with students, such as minimal activity by the student or delays in submitting assignments.
• The app’s interface allows teachers to view all assignments across multiple courses and which students have not handed in assignments. It also provides a quick list of assignments ready to be graded.

The app is available for free to instructors who use Blackboard’s mobile teaching/learning solution. An Android release has yet to be announced, but is likely in the works. Blackboard says the app release is part of a revamped product strategy to focus on the end-user’s experience.
