This partnership is a major win for both companies. Blackboard gets the addition of award-winning content as it continues to expand outward from its central LMS product,and Discovery Education gets the added content distribution that a widely used platform like Blackboard can provide. Faculty and students can't be overlooked here, either, as the easier access to that content also enriches the academic experience.
With digital content's presence growing as traditional textbooks continue to fall out of favor, deals like this will become commonplace across the ed landscape. The Discovery Education Higher Ed content does require a subscription, but a free trial is available here.
