Dive Insight:
Over the past 12 years, the Win a Wireless Lab Sweepstakes has granted closed to $2 million in classroom technology.
The annual contest is put on by CDW-G, a technology solutions provider, and Discovery Education, which offers standards-based digital content and professional development resources for K-12 classrooms.
The two companies whole-heartedly believe in the impact of tech in the classroom. “Technology is the way of the future – and our students will dictate that future,” CDW-G K-12 Director Joe Simone said in a press release. “CDW-G sponsors Win a Wireless Lab because it enables us to put innovative technology in K-12 schools and in the hands of our students, giving educators the opportunity to redefine the classroom experience.”
The companies aren't alone in their commitment to outfitting classrooms with new tech. Earlier this month, Apple announced that it will award a total of $100 million in grants to 114 schools in 29 states, helping them use technology to meet educational goals in conjunction with President Barack Obama's ConnectED initiative.
