Dive Brief:
- Citelighter on Tuesday announced a partnership with Encyclopedia Britannica's Britannica Digital Learning.
- The partnership will give students using the Citelighter platform access to the Britannica School's digital encyclopedia articles and photos, while Citelighter itself gets access to the school clients already using Britannica.
- Citelighter CEO Saad Alam told the Baltimore Business Journal that the partnership would bolster Citelighter's ability to help students improve their research and writing.
Dive Insight:
Basically, students using Citelighter can now search Britannica School instead of just the Internet in order to research information for papers. The tool allows them to highlight and save the information they'd like to use, and organizes those facts, along with their notes, into an outline.
As Baltimore Business Journal reports, the company, which recently raised $2 million, has grown quickly, with a userbase of 3,800 schools globally and an employee count expected to rise from 42 to at least 62 by the end of 2015 — though Saad's previously stated goals place that count at 100 by September.
