"These charter school grants will help open new charter schools and expand or replicate those with a record of success to help ensure that every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities that prepare them for college, careers and life,” U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was quoted as saying in the press release.
The grants fall into two categories.One portion will go toward helping high-performing charter schools expand and create new schools. The other portion will go toward opening new charter schools in states without Charter Schools Program (CSP) subgrants.
