Dive Brief:
- A Louisiana District Judge has rejected the Louisiana Association of Educators' claims that the state's decision to give $60 million to 33 charter schools was unconstitutional because the schools were created outside the parish and city school systems.
- Judge Wilson Fields argued that charter schools are technically public schools and since the state has set aside $3.6 billion for public education the $60 million is lawful.
- The LEA president says the union plans to appeal the finding.
