MOOCs were once again thrust into the education news spotlight this week as a Coursera study revealed who really uses them (Hint: It's not the audience originally pitched) and Sebastian Thrun speculated the model might be better used for vocational training. In other news, the University of Michigan revealed its plan to downsize without any layoffs and author David Thornburg made his case for why the traditional model of teaching needs an update.
