Dive Brief:
- Danish software solution company Netop on Tuesday debuted VisionMe, an iTunes app which aims to simplify and improve teachers's work in classrooms with iPads.
- Dubbed a "classroom workflow app," Netop has created shortcuts for teachers so they can present lessons directly onto everyone's tablet, highlight student work, blank student screens, block internet access, and administer web-based assessments — all from their own iPad.
- In order to use Vision Me, classrooms must download the Vision ME teacher and student apps, both of which are free in the App Store, and create accounts for $7.50 per user on the company's webpage.
Dive Insight:
While classrooms are now expected to have technology there has been little done to make sure teachers know how to use it all. Tech plus a lack of knowledge equates to a clunky experience — one that would almost be better off done the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. Providing tools that help simplify technology is key for teachers and classrooms to make the best use of it.
