Dive Insight:
Earlier in February, EdSurge reported that Blackboard was in the running to purchase PowerSchool. Best known for its learning management system, Blackboard has been on something of an acquisition spree as it looks to expand its footprint in K-12, and an SIS was said to be the perfect addition since the company reportedly lacks any formal services for tracking and documenting student data. Obviously, this news may drive up the price of the SIS and doesn't guarantee that Blackboard will walk away with PowerSchool.
