Dive Insight:
The use of learning management systems like Blackboard and Schoology has been expanding in the K-12 space as more schools transition to a tech-driven approach. The field has grown more competitive, with startups beginning to edge out older, more established competitors.
“Teachers and students are faced with an overwhelming number of tools and apps, all of which promise ways to better manage crowded classrooms and improve test scores. Unfortunately, these are often under-used or abandoned because they are difficult to learn and master, don’t translate across curriculums, or provide enough visibility into student engagement or performance,” Jeremy Friedman, CEO of Schoology, said in a statement.
