Effective leadership doesn’t happen in a vacuum: Every great superintendent or principal is supported by an equally strong leadership team helping to distribute responsibilities, ask the right questions and flag critical pain points to support effective schools.
For a fourth year, K-12 Dive’s Rising Leaders wants to highlight the stories of 10 exceptional assistant principals and district leaders.
Do you have an assistant principal who goes above and beyond in building a welcoming school culture or ensuring all students and staff feel seen? Do you know an assistant superintendent who’s always ready to step up when thinking about how curriculum, discipline or school buildings themselves could be improved — and has innovative approaches for how to get there? We want to hear about them.
We’ll be collecting nominations through the end of May. And then in July, we’ll unveil the selected assistant principals and assistant superintendents. We’re looking forward to sharing their careers and accomplishments!
And since we know titles vary from school to school and district to district, nominees could include anyone with a title similar to the below:
- Assistant principal.
- Associate principal.
- Vice principal.
- Assistant superintendent.
- Associate superintendent.
- Chief information officer.
- Director of IT.
- Chief communications officer.
- Director of student services.
- Director of special education.
- Director of curriculum.
- Chief academic officer.
- Director of facilities.
