Dive Insight:
According the National Assessment of Educational Progress, history and civic test scores for eighth graders have shown no real improvement since 2010. Time Edge hopes to remedy this. Currently, a free preview of the program is available and can be accessed on any web browser, and there are plans to offer schools classroom subscriptions for next school year.
It's pretty awesome to see brands like Time for Kids getting more into the curriculum game. These journalism outlets already have so many rich and fantastic resources at their disposal, so adapting them for middle school students seems like a brilliant use of their material. So many educators are already turning to Time magazine for current event resources that this alleviates some of the busywork necessary to adapt the content, as well as adding extra bells and whistles.
