Edmentum, Inc., a global education leader in K-12 learning technology solutions, today introduced two new instructional services to help schools and districts address urgent classroom staffing challenges: Enhanced Virtual Learning and Targeted Instructional Support.
Edmentum developed these new services in response to districts’ requests for additional options to ensure students receive high-quality, hybrid learning experiences as they begin the 2022-23 school year. By partnering with Edmentum to incorporate state-certified remote instructors to fill gaps in teaching schedules and reduce the administrative burdens on in-person teachers, schools can harness the power of blended learning in creative ways.
"It is no secret that districts across the country are struggling to find and retain teachers,” said Katie Lash, Executive Director of the East Central Educational Service Center in Indiana. “Districts are working to implement creative and innovative solutions to address the problem. In a post-COVID world, online instruction in a variety of formats has adapted quickly to meet the need. Edmentum is rising to the challenge and innovating to meet the increased demand for quality instruction, filling gaps left by the teacher shortage.”
Edmentum Chief Executive Officer Jamie Candee said, “We want to ensure that students are set up for success this school year. By partnering with schools and districts across the country, Edmentum can deliver high-quality virtual learning into brick-and-mortar classroom environments, especially where acute teacher shortages could affect students’ learning outcomes. Edmentum is committed to partnering with educators to find creative ways to maximize in-school instruction, and help teachers keep their focus on their students.”
Enhanced Virtual Learning is designed for schools and districts that need full-semester course coverage. This instructional service expertly blends virtual and in-person learning together during the school day, bringing Edmentum’s state-certified teachers and proven online curriculum into classrooms in real time. Students receive direct instruction, one-on-one conferencing, and small group engagement. Enhanced Virtual Learning can be added to the 6-12 EdOptions Academy.
Targeted Instructional Support gives classroom teachers a second set of hands during the school day to help individualize instruction. This instructional support offering provides a virtual teaching partner for students during the school day as needed, which aids in the delivery of targeted support. Targeted Instructional Support can be added to all Edmentum programs. Enhanced Virtual Learning and Targeted Instructional Support are two examples of Edmentum’s ongoing strategic partnerships with district leaders in response to the changing educational environment—including the long-term trend toward blended learning.
