When CTE students become production line workers, they find themselves working with increasingly complex technology systems. To better prepare those students, educators are looking for more ways to introduce Industry 4.0 technology innovations into training. On March 28, Intelitek will host an online panel discussion on the best practices for building an educational program focused on advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The free webinar will feature three experts in training and credentialing:
- Montez King, executive director of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) will discuss the value of credentials and how NIMS is revolutionizing the approach to certification with Smart Certification.
- James Tincher, an assistant professor of industrial maintenance technology will talk about credentialing and training from the perspective of both industry employer educational institutions.
- Danine Tomlin from Intelitek will explain how schools can prepare students to complete the certification.
The three panelists will discuss trends in industry and education as well as how educators can introduce industry-recognized credentials to training programs. They will also delve into the NIMS Industry 4.0 Production Specialist credential program, including the Knowledge Area requirements, the duty criteria, and its hands-on evaluation, the Smart Performance Measure. There is no cost to join the webinar, but registration is required.
