The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE), a leading provider of Structured Literacy professional development and curricular solutions, has hired Laura Fischer as the new Chief Academic Officer (CAO). In this role, Laura will lead, expand, and manage IMSE's literacy programs for K-12 schools nationwide.

With 25 years in the education sector — including leadership roles in educational publishing, edtech, and the classroom — Laura brings a deep understanding of market needs, pedagogical best practices and the state of the industry. Her expertise will be instrumental in helping shape IMSE’s strategic vision and guiding IMSE’s content development teams to create research-driven instructional and curricular products.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Laura to the IMSE team and can’t wait to see the innovative solutions she’ll help bring to teachers, students, and schools nationwide,” said Jeanne Jeup, CEO of IMSE. “IMSE is dedicated to equipping teachers and students with effective, evidence-based literacy tools. With Laura’s proven track record of translating academic research into meaningful learning experiences, she is the ideal candidate to help drive our vision forward.”
As the science of reading movement continues to reshape the market, Laura’s leadership will ensure IMSE remains at the forefront of evidence-based literacy education. A key part of Laura’s role will be understanding how to connect with schools and districts at different points in their Structured Literacy journey and delivering tailored support to meet their evolving needs.
"We know the power literacy has to change lives,” said Fischer. “We have a responsibility to equip teachers with the best possible instructional methods and materials to unlock every child’s reading potential. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to advance IMSE’s legacy of proven literacy solutions, and I’m excited to scale our work to impact even more teachers and students, particularly at this critical time in our educational landscape.”
